I can't believe that I wrote an entire post earlier today dealing with both the McCain campaign and the country of Spain and never once uttered, "No one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

One is also reminded of Dan Quayle's famous (and probably apocryphal) quote about his recent visit to Latin America during which he had wished he studied Latin harder in school so that he could have communicated better with the people.
