Well, it seems that my usual distrust of, and disappointment with, my government may have been temporarily incorrect. The House has recessed with no action on the Bush Administration's demands to reauthorize the ill-named Protect America Act. After the Senate caved, has the House found some gumption? It may be too early to tell, but the early signs are at least more favorable than I'd thought.
