The pet insurer Pet Plan detailed on its blog how to read the nutrition label on pet food. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a cat person to my core. (I definitely like cats more than I like people.) Thus, I believe that cats -- that pets generally -- deserve care on par with that of other family members. This includes quality of food. We should be understanding what we feed our pets and make sure that it is the best, most healthful food that we can provide.
It is the only morally appropriate action to take. If I'm not up to this for any reason, I should not have pets. Neither should you.
Feed them well.
