Composer Marvin Hamlisch passed away this week. The winner of Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, Golden Globes, a Tony, and a Pulitzer Prize, Hamlisch wrote some amazing music over his career. He was one of only eleven people who are EGOTs (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). Some of my favorite music of his came from The Sting, The Way We Were, The Spy Who Loved Me, and A Chorus Line. You can see his own website here and his IMDB page here. Obituaries for Hamlisch included the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and New York Times. My guess is that New York Magazine and The New Yorker will also feature tributes soon.
Did anyone do it better? A fitting answer...
